As a long-time member and a past office holder, I have often heard the remark, "How can one person help NSTOY become a more active organization?"
Participation in any organization is dependent upon the amount of time and effort one person can devote to its activities, and we are all personally very aware of the busy lives teachers have.
NSTOY is fortunate to have so many who do make room in their professional lives for this organization, from putting together this newsletter, to planning the annual conferences, to attending various meetings to promote NSTOY goals, to running the scholarship program, etc.
As co-chairs of the Membership Drive, we would like to ask EACH of you to help NSTOY increase its membership. As this spring newsletter usually goes out to only current members, we thank you for already being a vital part of the organization, but we ask you for more. CAN YOU HELP by recruiting another former TOY from your state to join up for this 2008-09 membership year?
Telephone another TOY and ask if they have sent in their membership dues, and, if they have not yet done so, encourage them to do it.
