Note: Some of our TOYs are making lots of “noise,” which we are always interested in hearing. You are encouraged to share information about your own personal and professional activities by sending
details to Peggy Tordoff at jtordoff@suddenlink.net
Faye Shaw (Fl 71) asks that we keep her husband, Larry, in our thoughts and prayers. Larry was recently diagnosed with bone marrow cancer. He will be undergoing treatment in the coming weeks. Faye and Larry are faithful attendees at NSTOY conferences. We hope they will soon be able to join us.
Gilbert Yee (CA 78) continues to suffer from a progressive neurological condition. His wife, Michi, said that they miss all of their NSTOY friends. Gil has become more disabled as his muscles have lost coordination. His movements are stiff and his balance poor, but Michi said that Gil still looks good.
They are kept busy with appointments. She would love to hear from any of us. Their e-mail address is:

Inga Smith (OH 83) recently spent two weeks in Hawaii with her son and daughter-in-law. She exclaimed that it was a beautiful place and a nice way to escape the snow and icy temperatures in Ohio. Inga is having a wonderful life, doing lots of traveling and spending time with family and friends.
A highlight of her past year was a 9-day photo expedition to Paris with a National Geographic photographer who took her to places an ordinary tourist would never find. It was a great experience.
Inga also keeps very busy with her photography. She has had several solo exhibits, as well as some shared with several other artists. She loves spending time on her photos and is doing fairly well in selling them.
Inga plans to attend the conference in Maine this summer. She looks forward to seeing everyone there.
Pat Rowe (NV 83) has become a City Councilwoman for Lovelock, NV in her retired life. She says she now has NSTOY, volunteering, and Council work to keep her out of trouble.
Sitting around is not an option for Pat. We congratulate her and wish her well in this new position. Surely, she will be an asset to her city.
Betty Amos (KS 84) wrote, "It's always easy to share good news but extra hard to share bad news." But, as so many TOYs were so supportive with their thoughts and prayers in Bruce's first round of cancer and saw him this past summer on the Alaska trip, she wanted them to know that at his regular check-up in December, the liver specialist found that the cancer has returned.
Bruce has three malignant lesions in the right lobe of the liver. He is in chemo every other week and has been violently ill with the treatments. Following the treatments, he usually feels better and is able to eat. Like last time, Betty says Bruce has a fabulous attitude and says he is going to beat the cancer again. She and the kids were devastated but are trying to "get their act together."
The family had such a fantastic Alaskan trip, and they are so glad they took the cruise. Betty says, "Every day is a blessing!" Please keep Betty and Bruce in your thoughts and prayers.
