ART PEEKEL RECEIVES
LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP AWARD

The Lifetime Membership Award was presented to Art Peekel at the 2010 Conference in Estes Park. Art is most deserving of this award, for he has devoted a major portion of his time to NSTOY during the past several years. Currently serving as Director of Communications, Art has served in the past as First Vice President, Second Vice President, President, and Past President of NSTOY. His work is often done behind the scenes, but much of the credit for NSTOY’s accomplishments belongs to Art because of his tireless efforts. Although he is not one to seek the limelight, he is extremely deserving of this honor and of the gratitude of NSTOY members. We congratulate him!

The NSTOY Speakers’ Bureau is starting its second year. During its first year of existence, we received many requests from Kappa Delta Pi Chapters from New York to Pennsylvania to Illinois to Texas for TOYS to serve as speakers at their events. Regrettably, we had only a few NSTOY members who were willing to speak or participate in events at nearby universities or colleges. We were fortunate to be able to fill as many requests as possible because of the generosity of some of our members.

We are anticipating more requests this year. And we are so pleased to announce that the number of interested TOYS has tripled. We need more of you to contact any colleges and universities near you in an effort to connect

to Kappa Delta Pi Chapters on their campus. Offer yourself as a keynote speaker or workshop presenter. Or volunteer to assist with one of their ongoing projects.

The rewards are fantastic! Being with the next generation of teachers, seeing their passion, and getting involved with their experience is so enriching for all of us. Please consider signing up for this NSTOY/KDP partnership endeavor.

CALL FOR TOY STATE “MESSENGERS!”

Volunteers are needed from each state to distribute the NSTOY eNEWS. The goal is to reach out to as many TOYs as possible!
