The Invitation to the 2010 NSTOY Conference, which will be held in Estes Park, CO, July 9-12 (post conference 13-14), is posted on the NSTOY website at: http://www.nstoy.org///

 

The Practitioner's Conference is scheduled for July 10 and will provide TOYs an opportunity to share their expertise and best practices with colleagues, area teachers, and education majors. In order to meet the current needs of educators in Colorado, we are looking for TOYs willing to facilitate presentations on specific topics. KAPPA DELTA PI held its Biennial Convocation Oct. 29-31, 2009 in Orlando, FL. NSTOY Board members President Joan Brummond WY 95, 1st Vice President Jeannie Williams VA 92, Secretary Sherri Gould ME 05, Executive Director Pat Rowe NV 83 and Director of Finance and Membership Carol Strickland KS 99 attended. They and Past President Kathy Weber IL 84 were guests of KDP. They gave workshops and held the semi-annual board meeting there. NSTOY is a chapter of KDP and TOYs are encouraged to join at the special rate of just $19.00. Check out the website at: http://www.kdp.org/

Norma and Joe Corsello IL 79 celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 29th.

 

Concern for TOYs and Family Members:

 

Bruce Amos, husband of Betty Amos KS 84, is in the last stages of two different kinds of chemo therapy. His doctor thinks the treatment may be able to put the liver cancer into remission. Glen Strickland, husband of Carol Strickland KS 99, is undergoing outpatient treatment for an irregular heartbeat. He is taking beta blockers and doing well. Their address is 1788 Road P.5., Emporia, KS 66801.

 

Art Peekel IL 92 had a second angiogram followed by open heart surgery on Oct. 15th. He recently began 12 weeks of cardiac rehabilitation. (Address below,)
