The “Invitation” to the 2010 NSTOY Conference, which will be held in Estes Park, CO, July 9-12 (post conference 13-14), is now posted on the NSTOY website at: http://www.nstoy.org// The Practitioner's Conference is scheduled for July 10 and will provide TOYs an opportunity to share their expertise and best practices with colleagues, area teachers, and education majors. In order to meet the current needs of educators in Colorado, we are looking for TOYs willing to facilitate presentations on specific topics. Sherri Gould ME 05, 2009 Conference Chair, reports that “the laptop raffle, won by Barbara Gilman GUAM 99, raised $960 in support of the NSTOY website. The 13” MacBook boasts a 2G RAM with a DVD/CD player and Apple applications designed for teachers.” KAPPA DELTA PI will hold its Biennial Convocation Oct. 29-31, 2009 in Orlando, FL. NSTOY Board members will be the guests of KDP, give a workshop and hold its semi-annual board meeting there. NSTOY is a chapter of KDP and TOYs are encouraged to join at the special rate of just $19.00. Jeanne Crews MO 84 was diagnosed with a blood clot in her leg. She has chosen to receive treatment at home. Her address:1154 Kingbolt Drive, Apt. A, St. Louis, MO 63129 Art Peekel IL 92 had an angiogram earlier this month which indicated blockage of an artery to his heart. He is home recovering from the placement of a stent. (Address below,) Faye Shaw FL 71 reports, “Good news about (husband) Larry. No more occurrences of cancer at the moment and the high protein has not increased.”
